Pre-Care Instructions for Lips Procedure

 

PRE-CARE REQUIREMENTS FOR LIPS PROCEDURE

You are not a candidate* for permanent makeup procedure, if you are:
   – prone to keloid scarring
   – pregnant and/or nursing
   – taking certain blood thinners
*It is your responsibility to disclose this information to NH Permanent Makeup Studio prior to any permanent makeup procedure.

Please reschedule your appointment immediately:
   – if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, recovering from the cold, flu, or any illness, or are currently taking antibiotics.
   – if you have skin irritation or blemishes within 1 inch of your lips.

If you are prone to cold sores, fever blisters, or herpes, you will need a prescription for antiviral medication (i.e., Acyclovir, Valacyclovir, Valtrex, etc.). Physicians usually require patients to begin taking the antiviral medication on the first day of procedure and continue the recommended dose for 5-7 days following the procedure. Be advised that there is still a likelihood of post procedure flare-ups.

30 DAYS BEFORE PROCEDURE
– No Botox
– No cosmetic fillers
– No Vitamin A products
– No Retinol products

7 DAYS BEFORE PROCEDURE

+ AVOID all blood thinning medications and supplements.
  – Consult with your permanent makeup artist for clarification regarding blood thinning medications and supplements.
  – Please consult with your physician before stopping use of any and all prescription medications.
+ EXFOLIATE lips daily for 5-7 days with lip scrub of your choosing, before your procedure.
  – You may make a simple sugar scrub at home (DIY*) using simple ingredients or purchase one:
          *DIY sugar scrub
            Ingredients:
            • 1 tbsp coconut oil
            • 1 tsp sugar
            • 1 tsp honey
            Instructions: Stir ingredients together in a small container until thoroughly mixed.
   – Lip scrub directions: Apply a small amount of lip scrub to your finger and gently rub in a circular motion directly on your lips. Continue gently exfoliating lips in circular motion for 1 minute and rinse with warm water.
+ MOISTURIZE lips daily with a rich lip balm to prepare lips for the procedure and increase your chances of optimal results.
